On Call Coverage If an emergency arises outside of our office hours, there is an answering service at (812) 435-9100 that will promptly direct you to the doctor on-call for further assistance. I share call with the following physicians: Dr.Christine Riley, Dr. Steven Ripperger, Dr. Donn Slovacheck, Dr. DeAngela Crutcher, Dr. Heather Schroeder, Dr. Allison Melton and Dr. Hermann Reid. One of my biggest concerns is being there for your delivery. I may not be available for delivery when I am not on call or when the office is closed. I perform around 200 deliveries a year and am available for 90-95% of them. The reason I am so successful at attending most of my deliveries is that many patients will elect to have an induction of labor after 39 weeks of pregnancy. (Term pregnancy is 40). The decision to have an induction or not is your choice. You certainly do not have to do this. Before being induced, you must meet certain criteria such as some cervical dilatation so that your risk for C-section is not increased. But if you meet criteria and want to be induced, then it is guaranteed that I will be there for your delivery. We will certainly discuss these issues as you approach the end of your pregnancy. |
