 Alicia D. SollmanI was born and raised in South Fulton, Tennessee in 1973. My Mom is a nurse and my dad worked at the local Goodyear Tire & Rubber plant. My sister soon followed 18 months later. I graduated from the local high school in 1991 with 74 other classmates. Yes, the town was small! As you can only imagine I longed for something much bigger. I went on to attend Murray State University in Kentucky where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I stayed in Murray for roughly a year and worked at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital as a nurse. I was able to gain experience in orthopedic, cardiac, and postpartum care. I soon decided that I needed room to grow so I followed friends from nursing school to Evansville, Indiana. My first job in Evansville was at Deaconess Hospital where I worked in cardiac and soon after, I was offered a position with a local cardiology office. I knew that I wanted to further my nursing career so I entered the Nurse Practitioner program at USI. I graduated in 2004. I worked in family practice for 4 years. I cared for infants to senior adults with 90 percent of the patient population consisting of females so; it felt like a natural transition to work with Dr. Basinski. Sometime between work, school, and studying, I met my wonderful husband Chris and my adorable stepson Kyler. In 2005, we added our adorable son Kaden to the clan. And in 2009, we added, yet, another adorable son, Kelby. I look forward to expanding my knowledge in women’s health and learning how to better care for this population. I have definitely enjoyed all of the new experiences in caring for women, from counseling to assisting in surgery. EDUCATION  Murray State University, BSN - 1996 |
